U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi agreed to open the Rafah crossing to allow about 20 trucks carrying humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. He told reporters that "Sisi deserves some real credit because he has been cooperative." He confirmed that he did not inform Israel about America entering the war in case Hezbollah intervened and joined the conflict. He also denied suggesting that "Hamas intentionally bombed the hospital in Gaza." He continued: "I have been very firm with the Israelis about the need to support the delivery of aid to Gaza." He emphasized: "Sisi and I agreed on the need to maintain stability in the Middle East and prevent escalation of the conflict, as well as to work closely together to encourage an urgent and strong international response to the humanitarian appeal from the United Nations." For its part, the Egyptian presidency confirmed late Wednesday that President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi discussed with Biden facilitating the urgent access of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
