America Reclassifies Houthi Group as "Terrorist Organization"

U.S. officials indicated today, Friday, that "the Biden administration has re-added the Houthis in Yemen to the list of 'terrorist' groups, in the latest attempt by Washington to stop attacks on international shipping." The officials added that "the designation of the Iran-aligned movement as a 'global terrorist' group aims to cut off the funding and weapons that it has used to attack or seize ships in the vital shipping corridors in the Red Sea." The Houthis' campaign has disrupted global trade, raised concerns about inflation, and deepened fears that the repercussions of the war between Israel and Hamas could destabilize the Middle East.
