Aml Denounces Actions of Some Countries to Stop Funding UNRWA

The political bureau of the "Aml" movement condemned the recent actions taken by some countries to halt their funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). In a statement, it indicated that "these arbitrary measures are denounced and considered objectionable in terms of their timing and context." It stated: "They come at a moment when the Palestinian people are facing a war of genocide in the Gaza Strip and systematic persecution in the West Bank." It viewed this as evidence that "these steps fall within the context of the conspiratorial and destructive series targeting the Palestinian cause, sometimes through the Israeli killing machine and at other times by deepening the policy of double standards." The bureau urged the countries and governments that have taken such actions to reverse them and to be aware of the catastrophic repercussions that could ensue for the Palestinian people on various levels, especially humanitarian, health, and educational.
