New Israeli Airstrike around Damascus

Syrian state media reported that Israel carried out an airstrike in the vicinity of the Syrian capital, Damascus, early Saturday morning. The Syrian News Agency "SANA," citing a military source, stated that around 1:35 AM on Saturday, Israel executed "air aggression towards the Syrian Golan targeting some points around the city of Damascus." The source added: "Our air defense systems intercepted the aggression's missiles and shot down most of them, resulting in material losses only." Meanwhile, Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that Israeli air forces targeted "Hezbollah positions" in the Sayyida Zeinab neighborhood south of Damascus. He noted that ambulances rushed to the site following the strikes. The Israeli airstrike comes a day after renewed violence in the Gaza Strip, following a week-long temporary humanitarian truce.
