International Document - Surprising Decision: Lifting UN Sanctions on Iran

After nearly two decades, UN sanctions on Iran have been fully lifted in accordance with what's called the "Transition Day in the nuclear agreement," set for October 28, 2023. The Security Council officially confirmed the lifting of the missile ban on Tehran under international resolution 2231. This decision comes amidst the escalating Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has lasted for sixteen consecutive days, alongside Iranian threats that do not exceed media rhetoric, regarding entering the war against Israel following the expiration of UN restrictions on Iran's ballistic missile program. The positions of the parties involved in the nuclear agreement (signed approximately eight years ago) vary, with some welcoming the decision while others insist on maintaining arms restrictions. In addition to Tehran confirming the end of all restrictions on activities and transfers related to its ballistic missiles, Moscow stated that it no longer needs to adhere to UN restrictions on providing missile technology to its ally Iran.
