Minister of Education Extends Closure of Southern Border Schools

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, continues to implement the decision regarding the closure of schools, secondary schools, institutes, and both public and private vocational schools located in the southern border areas, starting tomorrow, Monday. As for schools adjacent to international border areas, the decision to close them or not will be left to the discretion of each school's principal. Schools in all other Lebanese areas will continue to operate normally. The minister emphasized the right of every student to enroll in the nearest public school to their new place of residence. He also affirmed the right of displaced educational staff to join schools in their new locations, provided that the educational areas are informed of these developments. Citizens are urged to follow the ministry's statements, and this decision will remain in effect until otherwise stated by the minister.
