The newspaper "Le Parisien" reported that French police detained two students at a high school in Yvelines, in the Paris area, on Thursday after they attempted to poison their teacher using cleaning products. The newspaper stated, "A student was taken into custody around noon along with a friend for attempted poisoning and complicity." The student admitted to trying to poison the teacher, saying he was "regretful" about the incident. According to a source familiar with the case, the student intended to "joke" by pouring window cleaner into the teacher's cup.
The incident occurred last Tuesday during a year-end tea party organized by the teacher. During the event, one of the students gave her a cup containing cleaning products, after which she felt unwell and was taken to the hospital. The hospital reported that the teacher's life was not in danger, and she was discharged from the hospital and filed a complaint, prompting the public prosecutor’s office to open an investigation into the matter.
