NATO Holds New Meeting with Ukraine

NATO announced on Thursday that Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will hold a meeting with diplomats from the alliance and officials from Ukraine on January 10, following the latest wave of intense Russian airstrikes on Ukraine. A spokesperson for the alliance stated that the meeting of the newly established NATO-Ukraine Council is being convened at Kyiv's request in the aftermath of missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian civilians and cities. Russia has intensified its attacks during the New Year celebrations, with President Vladimir Putin warning that the Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Belgorod, which Moscow claims resulted in the deaths of 25 civilians, "will not go unpunished."
