General Abbas Ibrahim received the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, in his office in Beirut, where they discussed the latest developments in the regional arena and the military situation amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza. They also addressed the conditions in southern Lebanon and the danger of deteriorating circumstances due to actions taken by Israel, which recently resulted in the martyrdom of three girls and their grandmother, as well as previous incidents involving the Islamic Scouts’ ambulance team while they were providing humanitarian aid to the injured.
Subsequently, Ibrahim met with the French ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, in his office in Beirut on Wednesday. Their discussion focused on the risk of heightened tensions at the border with occupied Palestine and the Israeli assaults on Lebanon and its citizens, including the martyrdom of four innocent civilians and the targeting of teams from the Islamic Scouts who were evacuating the victims and assisting the injured. They also emphasized the importance of electing a president for the republic to confront the dangers surrounding Lebanon, which is a necessary step to rebuild constitutional, monetary, and financial institutions and to address the deteriorating living and social conditions.
