Chepchirchir, who won the Tokyo Marathon in 2017, was previously suspended for four years in 2019, retrospectively effective from April 11, 2018, due to unusual biological indicators in her biological passport. The Integrity Unit of World Athletics declared on its website that the 39-year-old athlete has been suspended again and that she has been informed of the charges against her.
