Burning of the Christmas Tree in Tripoli in Less Than a Week

After condemning the burning of the Christmas tree in Tripoli last Sunday, the "Tripoli and Mina Development Association" has denounced the burning of the Christmas tree in the courtyard of St. George's Cathedral in Mina after midnight yesterday. It expressed regret in a statement for the recurrence of this incident for the second time in less than a week in Tripoli, a city of coexistence and brotherly living among its residents. The association urged security forces to "intensify their presence in front of churches and pastoral centers to prevent such incidents," calling for "the harshest penalties for the perpetrators who have no relation to heavenly religions." Finally, it called on the people of Tripoli and Mina to "strengthen the bonds of friendship and love among themselves to avert any attempts at sedition and tampering with the shared coexistence in the city."
