Eli Mahfoud, the president of the Change Movement, considered it a mistake to replace the army commander during the battle, suggesting that they should appoint a Chief of Staff for the army and enable the commander to remain in leadership. In a statement, Mahfoud emphasized that the issue of keeping Army Commander General Joseph Aoun in his position is not related to the presidential file but to the exceptional circumstances and the atmosphere of war that we are experiencing, where anxiety and fear are prevalent. He stated that, based on the mistake of changing the commander during the battle, the government must appoint a Chief of Staff for the army and also ensure the commander remains at the helm.
