Turkey's Chief Presidential Advisor, Akif Çağatay Kılıç, denied any cooling of relations between Ankara and Moscow, indicating that "discussions are ongoing regarding the timing of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey." He noted in a statement to CNN Türk that during the "last phone conversation, President Erdogan once again invited President Putin, and currently, efforts are underway to determine the date of the visit."
Regarding claims from some media about "cooling relations between Ankara and Moscow," he stated: "This news is incorrect, and there is no cooling between the two sides. We are actively working at the level of the foreign ministries and intelligence."
He added, "Negotiations continue at the level of foreign policy regarding the grain deal."
On August 3rd, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the date and location of the meeting between Presidents Putin and Erdogan will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels, noting that "it does not necessarily have to take place in Turkey."
