Stoltenberg Calls on Hungary to Allow Sweden's NATO Membership

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the Turkish parliament's decision to ratify Sweden's request to join NATO and urged Hungary to follow suit. In a statement late Tuesday, he said, "I also count on Hungary to complete its national ratification as soon as possible." He added, "All NATO members agreed at the Vilnius summit to invite Sweden to join our alliance, and Sweden has fulfilled its commitments. Sweden's membership makes NATO stronger and makes us all safer."
