Excidentally... Excavator Breaches Metro Tunnel in Istanbul (Video)

A video published by the Turkish television channel "Sözcü" today, Saturday, showed an excavator working near a subway line that connects the Mecidiyeköy area in central Istanbul to the city's main airport, accidentally breaching the ceiling of the metro tunnel. The video showed the excavator breaching the tunnel and the damage caused to the tunnel and tracks. The images revealed that the excavation penetrated the tunnel ceiling and reached the metro tracks. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport stated that "the tunnel has been repaired following the incident."
