As part of the daily monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to curb drug trafficking and promotion across various regions in Lebanon, orders were given to intensify field efforts and intelligence to identify those promoting this dangerous substance and to arrest them, due to information received about an unknown individual distributing drugs in the Ouzai area and surrounding areas.
As a result of investigations carried out by the Information Branch, the identity of the dealer was determined to be A.G. (born in 1970, Lebanese). He has a criminal history related to drug trafficking and use and is wanted by the judiciary under two legal pursuits.
On 15-08-2023, following a thorough observation and surveillance operation, the branch's patrols managed to arrest him in the act in the Airport Road area while he was promoting drugs. Upon searching him, ten nylon bags containing heroin, a mobile phone, and cash were seized.
During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding the distribution of drugs to several clients in the Ouzai area and neighboring regions, and he also admitted to drug use. Legal measures were taken against him, and he was transferred along with the seized items to the appropriate authority based on judicial instructions.
