100,000 Cases of Pneumonia and 70,000 Cases of Gastroenteritis in Gaza

Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, the regional director of the World Health Organization, announced that the cessation of hospital operations in Gaza has created significant fragility in the health system, resulting in approximately 100,000 cases of pneumonia, 70,000 cases of gastroenteritis, and over 37,000 cases of skin infections in Gaza. He added during a phone interview on "Cairo News" channel that nearly two million displaced people in the Gaza Strip are without shelter due to the destruction of their homes, and 500,000 pregnant women and children in Gaza urgently need intervention for therapeutic and preventive nutrition, with around 7,000 children suffering from malnutrition. He confirmed that only 9 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are operating at partial capacity, exceeding their capacity, and a large number of children in Gaza have suffered burns and amputations and are undergoing surgeries under difficult conditions. He further explained that 225,000 people in Gaza need hypertension medication, and about 45,000 suffer from asthma and heart diseases.
