Monir Fahkry Abd Nour, the former Secretary-General of the Wafd Party and former Minister of Trade and Industry in Egypt, disclosed the truth about former Foreign Minister Amr Moussa’s intentions regarding running for the presidency. In an interview with the Egyptian website "Cairo - 24," Abd Nour stated: "I am in constant daily contact with Amr Moussa, especially with the rumors about the possibility of his candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections in 2024. Therefore, let me say, without a doubt: Amr Moussa does not intend to run in the upcoming presidential elections."
He added: "Amr Moussa is a significant figure, but he is not prepared to enter the presidential race, even if the conditions and activity are favorable. However, I currently consider him more active than a 40-year-old, especially since he travels at least twice a month to attend international conferences in various capitals. Yet, he is well aware of the constraints of age, and this is where the importance of responsibility and seriousness comes in."
He emphasized that Amr Moussa is a valuable figure who can serve as a wise and sober judge to seek counsel from on both internal and external matters, and he cherishes their friendship, but the truth is that he is not ready to enter the electoral battle due to the age-related constraints he faces.
