Attack on South Korean Lawmaker

The South Korean police indicated today, Thursday, that "a lawmaker from the ruling party is receiving treatment at a hospital in Seoul after being attacked by an unidentified man who struck her head with an object resembling a stone." A police official in the Apgujeong area stated that "a suspect was arrested at the scene following the attack targeting lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin." The severity of Bae's injuries is not immediately clear. The police official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, noted that "Bae was conscious while being transported to the hospital." South Korean media reported that her condition is not life-threatening, according to her aides.
