Israeli government spokesman Elon Levy stated today, Tuesday, that Israel expects tough fighting in the new phase of its war in Gaza, "but it is open to any positive opinion regarding the reduction of harm to civilians as long as the advice aligns with its goal of destroying Hamas." He added in a briefing to reporters, "We are moving forward into the second phase now. It will be a phase that will be difficult militarily." Levy pointed out that "any constructive opinion we receive, and any serious military strategic advice on how to target Hamas while minimizing harm to civilians, we will of course consider." However, he clarified that the advice must align with the goal of destroying the armed Palestinian group.
