Title: Life Imprisonment for Sheikh Hikmat Al-Aani on Charges of Child Abuse in Anbar

The Court of Cassation today, Saturday, upheld the sentence against Sheikh Hikmat Al-Aani, sentencing him to life imprisonment twice. A knowledgeable source stated that "the Court of Cassation affirmed the judgment against Sheikh Hikmat Al-Aani from Anbar Governorate, sentencing him to life imprisonment twice on charges of child abuse." The Anbar Criminal Court issued the life sentence on September 12, 2023, against the criminal (Hikmat Rajab – a muezzin and employee of the Sunni Endowment in Ramadi – a mosque in the Teachers' Neighborhood) for committing the crime of rape against children during Quran memorization courses.
