Egyptian authorities have placed the Rafah crossing on alert, Thursday, in anticipation of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in order to allow the entry of aid convoys that are waiting at the crossing. It was scheduled for aid trucks to enter in the early hours of Thursday morning to reach Gaza after the ceasefire took effect at 10 a.m. local time. However, the postponement of the agreement's start prevented that until an official announcement was made regarding the ceasefire coming into effect. Israel had announced that the ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners with Hamas would not begin before Friday, after it was expected to be implemented on Thursday morning.
