Fraud and Deception... This is How We Managed to Obtain $50,000

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the ongoing efforts to reduce fraud and deception crimes, and in the context of the investigation conducted by the Beirut Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit, regarding a complaint made by one citizen against both: A.T. (born in 1957, Lebanese) and A.B. (born in 1963, Lebanese) for the crime of fraud, deception, and impersonation.

In detail, the first suspect convinced the victim that she was under the influence of magic, and in order to rid herself of it, he sent her to the second suspect, who impersonated a religious figure of Moroccan nationality residing in a hotel in the Tabarja area. The complainant visited him several times, during which he wore the attire of a religious figure, burned incense, and wiped the victim's body with liquid materials. He demanded large sums of money from her as compensation for his services and the substances he used, managing to obtain nearly $50,000 from her.

As a result of continued surveillance and tracking, the detachment was able to locate both suspects and apprehend them. Forms related to sexual service requests to the Republic of Atlantis were found in A.T.'s home, along with remittances from a money transfer company in the victim's name. In A.B.'s possession were cards bearing his name, which he used in his operations, including one stating that he was the President of Peace Ambassadors Worldwide, issued by the Global Peace and Prosperity Organization, along with cash.

During the investigation, the first suspect admitted that he is not a doctor at any hospital in Lebanon. Meanwhile, the second denied impersonating a Moroccan religious figure and obtaining funds from the victim, despite the presence of receipts from a money transfer company confirming that he received money from the complainant.

Therefore, based on the instructions from the competent judiciary, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces is distributing their photographs and requesting that anyone who fell victim to their acts and recognizes them come to the Beirut Judicial Detachment located in the Berbar Khazen Barracks in Verdun, or contact the number: 810170-01, in preparation for necessary legal actions."
