Rifi: We May Break the Boycott of Parliamentary Sessions to Preserve the Army Institution

In light of concerns over the vacuum moving from the presidency to high-ranking positions within the military institution, and amidst rising tensions in southern Lebanon, Ashraf Rifi, a member of the "Renewal" bloc, expressed his apprehension about the failure to extend the term of the army commander in a special interview with "Wardena." Rifi indicated that there are two solutions: either through the Council of Ministers or by the intervention of the Parliament as dictated by the higher national interest. He pointed out that if the matter were to be in the hands of Parliament, the "Renewal" parliamentary bloc would exceptionally break its boycott of legislative sessions for national reasons to save the military institution.
