Ukrainian officials indicated today, Thursday, that "a cargo ship flying the Panamanian flag, heading to a port on the Danube River to load grain, collided with a mine planted by Russia in the Black Sea yesterday, Wednesday, which led to the injury of two crew members." The Southern Military Command of Ukraine stated: "An explosion occurred on a civilian ship flying the Panamanian flag due to a naval mine planted by the Russian enemy in the Black Sea... the ship veered off course, and the crew lost control of it, resulting in a fire in the ship's upper deck." The Head of the Prosecutor's Office in Odessa noted that "the captain of the ship and an Egyptian sailor were injured, with the latter being transferred to a hospital in the Ukrainian city of Izmail." He added: "The incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday, Wednesday, at the mouth of one of the rivers."
