US Urges Iraq to Investigate Attack in Kurdistan Region

The United States condemned today, Friday, a drone attack on a large gas field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq that occurred yesterday, Thursday, and urged Iraqi authorities to investigate, blaming Iran-aligned armed factions. The State Department stated, "We stand with our partners in Iraq against these vile and senseless acts." The attack temporarily disrupted production. Dana Gas announced today in a statement that production operations at the Khormor gas field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq have resumed. Production had been temporarily halted after a storage tank at the field was reportedly struck by a drone yesterday.
