The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported, citing the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, that authorities have arrested 35 individuals linked to the attacks on January 3 in the city of Kerman in southeastern Iran. The ministry stated that they have so far identified one of the two suicide bombers, a citizen of Tajikistan who entered Iran illegally on December 19. The ministry added that it will release more information later regarding the second suicide bomber, noting that the arrests took place in several Iranian provinces. The extremist group "ISIS" claimed responsibility for the attack, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 100 people and injuries to 284 others at a memorial for the prominent military commander Qassem Soleimani. Tehran has vowed to take revenge in response to the attack, described as the deadliest in Iran since the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
