UNIFIL's Deputy Director of the Media Office, Candice Ardell, stated today, Saturday, that "this morning, dozens of individuals crossed south of the Blue Line in the Bostrah area, and in response, the Israeli army fired tear gas." She added in a statement, "UNIFIL peacekeepers, the Lebanese army, and the Israeli army are all on site, and the situation is ongoing, but it is calm now." She further mentioned, "The Head of the UNIFIL Mission and Force Commander, Major General Arnold Latharo, is speaking with the authorities on both sides of the Blue Line." She noted, "Several incidents in recent days have raised tensions, and thanks to the commitment of parties on both sides of the Blue Line, these incidents did not escalate further. We encourage everyone to continue exercising the same level of restraint in the hours and days to come."
