CEO of Hapag-Lloyd: It is Unlikely that the Red Sea Crisis Will End Soon

The CEO of the German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd stated that it is unlikely that the Houthi attacks on shipping vessels in the Red Sea will end soon, forcing shipping companies to avoid the route that crosses the Suez Canal. CEO Rolf Habben Jansen said during a press conference in Hamburg, "We do not believe that it will end tomorrow. Whether it will continue for a month, three months, or five months, I do not know." He added that reaching a political agreement and a mission to protect shipping vessels could lead to a resolution within six months.
