Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bouhabib, announced after meeting with the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Lisa Johnson that "we welcomed the U.S. readiness to mediate in reducing tensions and restoring calm and stability to the south." He emphasized that "we are engaging with the U.S. side with openness and a positive spirit to reach sustainable solutions that preserve Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, ensuring rights, security, and stability, especially for the people of the south."
