"The Storm" Sweeps Across the American Midwest, Leaving 250,000 Without Power

A severe winter storm sweeping through the American Midwest has left over 250,000 customers without power in the states of Wisconsin and Michigan as of Friday, with predictions of ice covering the area starting early this week. Power outages have affected more than 151,000 homes and businesses in Michigan, while Wisconsin saw outages for 102,692 customers by midnight Friday. Airlines have postponed over 7,600 flights across the United States, including aircraft that were prevented from taking off at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago due to strong winds and heavy snowfall.
