The "Al-Fares Al-Shahim 3" humanitarian operation launched by the United Arab Emirates announced the successful full supply of desalinated water to Palestinians in Rafah within the Gaza Strip from UAE water desalination stations in Egyptian Rafah. This was achieved after a 900-meter pipeline was extended from the desalination stations, allowing the Water Authority in Palestinian Rafah to draw water from the Egyptian border. The timing of this successful water supply is critical, as Gaza residents are facing water scarcity. The water line will provide essential daily drinking water needs to shelters. Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, the UAE's permanent representative to the United Nations, indicated that she inaugurated three desalination stations built by the UAE for this purpose in collaboration with the Arab Republic of Egypt, with many representatives from UN Security Council member states in attendance. The three stations will desalinate approximately 600,000 gallons of water daily and pump it through pipelines into the Gaza Strip, covering the needs of around 300,000 residents.
