Following the Death of Khader Adnan: Alarm and Gas Chokes in Ofer Prison

The Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission reported that "Israeli authorities have transferred the body of prisoner Khader Adnan to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute." It announced the suspension of "work before military courts under the occupation today, in protest against the death of prisoner Adnan," demanding "the Israeli army to immediately hand over his body for burial in a manner befitting his legacy." It noted that "the Palestinian prisoner movement in Ofer Prison has closed all sections, refused to accept food, and declared a state of general mobilization."

The Palestinian news agency reported "gas chokes among the prisoners following heightened tensions and mobilization in Ofer Prison." The emergency committee of the prisoner movement stated that "the prisons administration bears responsibility for the crime of killing, and mourning will continue until a response to the crime is achieved," urging all factions to "be up to the occasion and bear responsibility regarding the assassination of Khader Adnan."

The Prisoners' Media Office reported "a communication blackout between the leadership of the prisoner movement and Ofer Prison following the death of prisoner Adnan," indicating that "the prisoner movement warns the prison administration against isolating any prisoner." The Palestinian Prisoners' Club announced "intense mobilization in the military Ofer Prison west of Ramallah, and the prison administration is using gas against the prisoners."
