Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin may speak with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on short notice if necessary regarding the extension of the Ukrainian grain export agreement from Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea, as discussions on the matter continue in Istanbul. Peskov noted that the two presidents could "communicate with each other very quickly when needed." Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated on Wednesday that he believes the agreement, which allows for the safe export of grain and fertilizers from three Ukrainian ports, could be extended for at least another two months.
