The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement today, Wednesday: "As part of the security measures being taken by the Intelligence Directorate in various regions, its patrols have carried out the following security actions:
- The arrest of a citizen (M.Z.) in the town of Barja - Chouf for causing several disturbances and firing shots from military weapons on different dates and locations. Two military pistols, a Kalashnikov rifle, and military ammunition were seized from his home.
- The arrest of a Syrian national (A.S.) in the Dekwaneh area - Mount Lebanon for drug possession and trafficking, as well as for illegally entering Lebanon.
- The arrests of two Syrians (R.Q.) and (H.T.) in the town of Ashqout - Mount Lebanon for committing several thefts, the latest being an attempt to steal electrical cables from a hospital, in addition to committing fraud in various locations and dates, and for drug possession and trafficking.
The seized items have been handed over, and investigations with the arrestees have begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
