Foreign Minister and Emigrants Abdullah Bou Habib announced, after his meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, that they "discussed the topic of his preparatory visit to New York to address the issue of renewing the international force operating in the south."
In another context, caretaker Justice Minister Henry Khoury announced, following a meeting of the committee tasked with proposing amendments to the monetary and credit law, that "we discussed new ideas to amend the monetary and credit law; the fundamental aspects of the law will not be altered, but there are some points that can undergo purely cosmetic amendments."
Mikati chaired the meeting this morning at the Grand Serail, which included Justice Minister Henry Khoury, Finance Minister Youssef Khalil, former ministers Ibrahim Najjar and Shakib Qartbawi, Dr. Nasri Diab, and experts Abdul Hafeez Mansour, Hassan Saleh, and Ghassan Ayash.
Mikati also received the acting General Director of General Security, Major General Elias Baissari. Among the visitors to the Grand Serail were Lebanon's Ambassador to Mexico Sami Namir, Civil Service Board President Nasrin Mashmoushi, and a delegation from the administrative board of the Lebanese Skills Sports Federation.
