Member of the Strong Lebanon Bloc, MP Alan Aoun, revealed that "acceptance of the leader of the Marada Movement, Sleiman Frangieh, is no longer impossible. Hezbollah will concede on issues it previously refused because we have entered into a logic of negotiation with them; this is not a trade-off, and the Ministry of Finance does not belong to the Shiite duo, knowing that the demands of the movement do not diminish its powers." Aoun stated in a television interview: "The results of the dialogue with Hezbollah will become evident within two weeks, whether through an agreement or not, and talking about us wasting time until the end of the Army Commander's term is a flawed assumption of intentions. The battle is confined to two candidates: Sleiman Frangieh and Army Commander Joseph Aoun, both of whom are unable to reach the presidency, so we need to agree." He added, "I think that the visit of the French envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian will not bring anything new, as the positions domestically have not changed. There are French-Saudi communications, and there is a meeting tomorrow with the advisor in the Saudi Cabinet General Secretariat, Nizar bin Suleiman Al-Aloula, to try to ensure the success of Le Drian's initiative."
