French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna stated today that she informed her Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian that "the risk of igniting the situation in the Middle East is greater than ever, and Tehran and its agents must stop their destabilizing activities." Colonna emphasized, "Iran and its partners must immediately halt their destabilizing actions," noting that "no one will benefit from escalation."
Iranian media quoted Abdollahian as saying that the only way to calm the conflict is to resolve the crisis at its roots. He added, "The effective step to end violence in the region is to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, as well as to take measures to stop the killing of civilians, facilitate humanitarian aid, and prevent forced migration."
