Armenian lawyer Arsen Babayan reported on Monday that "Member of the National Assembly Tadevos Avetisyan was arrested during the protests," warning the police that "such an action warrants criminal responsibility." The lawyer stated on his official account on the "X" platform: "A member of parliament has just been arrested. If the police do not prove that Avetisyan committed an intentional crime and detained him based on reasonable suspicion, then those who ordered the arrest 'must bear criminal responsibility.'"
Tadevos Avetisyan, a member of the Armenian opposition faction, was arrested in Yerevan, as reported by his lawyer Arsen Babayan, according to Sputnik Armenia.
Additionally, the Russian news agency "TASS" reported that the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that "the country's police have detained at least 142 individuals during anti-government protests in the capital, Yerevan."
On Tuesday, Azerbaijan announced the launch of "anti-terrorism operations" targeting Armenian forces in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, following the deaths of six Azerbaijani citizens in two separate mine explosions. It was noted that Azerbaijan has gained control over more than 60 positions of the Armenian army.
