Sweden: 5 People Entered the Iranian Embassy Premises Illegally

The Swedish police announced in a statement that "five people entered today, Tuesday, illegally the site of the Iranian embassy on the outskirts of Stockholm during a protest." The individuals were removed from the area. A police spokesperson told the Swedish news agency "TT" that "it is not immediately clear whether any of the five individuals entered the embassy building itself." A diplomatic dispute is escalating between Stockholm and Tehran due to the detention of several Swedish citizens in Iran. Iran also accuses a Swedish court of unjustly sentencing a former Iranian official to life imprisonment for the mass execution of political prisoners in the 1980s.
