Mufti Deryan to Arab Leaders: We Trust Your Wisdom in Addressing the Situation in Gaza

The General Directorate of Islamic Endowments issued a directive, led by the Grand Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abd al-Latif Deryan, instructing the imams and preachers of mosques in Lebanon to dedicate the Friday sermon tomorrow to Palestine and the Israeli aggression against Gaza, and to hold a memorial prayer for the souls of the martyrs of Gaza who fell defending the land and Jerusalem, with its mosques and churches.

Mufti Deryan stated: "The savage and barbaric attack on the Gaza Strip and all Palestinian territories will not go unpunished by God and the heroes of the Palestinian resistance. The blood of the martyrs will not be in vain; let the Zionist enemy know that the heroes of Palestine represent the conscience of the Arab and Islamic nation and its sentiment."

He added: "The war of extermination and destruction waged by the brutal Israeli enemy on Gaza and its heroic people, with unjust Western support, is a war against Arabs, Muslims, and free people around the world who support the Palestinians and their legitimate cause. The continuous extermination of the Palestinian people is a flagrant war crime."

He continued: "We are proud of the heroes of the Palestinian people and stand with them. It is not in our nature to resort to humiliation or surrender as long as the land of Palestine is occupied."

He called out to the sons of Palestine, saying: "O sons of Palestine, you are strong in God and in the truth, and you deserve our trust. We stand by your side. With unity, the Zionist enemy will drown in the flood that awaits it. The Palestinian cause is the noblest and purest cause because it seeks to liberate the land and uphold human dignity."

Mufti Deryan addressed the Arab leaders, saying: "You are our hope, and we trust in your wisdom to address what is happening in Gaza and all of Palestine regarding the massacres and extermination perpetrated by the brutal Zionist entity against them every day, in full view and hearing of the world."

The Grand Mufti extended his condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, calling for victory and the liberation of Palestine, establishing the Palestinian state on all Palestinian territory with Jerusalem as its capital.
