Local television channels reported on Friday that at least four people were injured due to an explosion that occurred in a popular cafe in Bengaluru, India's technology hub. Reports indicated that the cause of the explosion at the Rameshwaram Cafe is still unknown.
The explosion took place in the eastern part of the city during the busy lunchtime, as large numbers of office workers were gathered at the location. A police officer at the scene stated that the cause of the explosion is yet to be determined, adding that a team of explosives experts is on their way to investigate.
Television footage showed some damage inside the cafe, while police and firefighters cleared crowds that had gathered after the explosion. Forensic experts and fire service personnel were present at the Rameshwaram Cafe on ITPL Main Road, where the explosion occurred. Five injured individuals have been hospitalized.
