The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, announced on Monday that it does not believe Iran is seeking to enter a war with the United States and that Washington is not seeking war either. This statement came a day after three American soldiers were killed and dozens more were injured in Jordan by an Iran-backed group. Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh blamed Iran for assisting groups in attacking the US, stating that the latest attack bears the "signature" of the Iran-backed Hezbollah group. She added, "We do not seek war, but we will act and respond to attacks on our forces."
