Israeli airline El Al announced today, Friday, that it will suspend flights to Johannesburg (the largest city in South Africa) at the end of March. The airline attributed this decision to the current security situation and a sharp decline in demand after South Africa accused Israel of committing genocide in a case before the International Court of Justice, as reported by Reuters. The Israeli company, which operates up to two non-stop flights weekly to Johannesburg, stated that it will change the wide-body aircraft used on that route to expand its current destinations while exploring new routes.
