Iranian Foreign Ministry: The U.S. Acts Against the Will of the People in West Asia

The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, stated that "the U.S. system is moving in a direction contrary to the will of the people in the region by inciting alternating wars and spreading instability and conflicts in West Asia."

Kanaani tweeted: "The periodic announcement of news regarding the deployment of submarines, the movement of ships, or the dispatch of bombers to West Asia, while the new regional equations are ready to form a new order without the need for military forces from outside the region, is part of the U.S. government's attempts to cover up the diminishing pace of its power in the world."

He added, "The U.S. system has acted against the will of the people in the region by provoking alternating wars and escalating instability and conflicts in West Asia," asserting that "it would be better for Washington to realistically understand the new facts and avoid attempts to intervene in West Asia and the Persian Gulf in the path of Israeli interests."

The U.S. Navy had announced on Saturday the deployment of a nuclear-powered submarine equipped with guided missiles to the Middle East in support of the U.S. Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain.
