Public Administration Employees Extend Strike Until April 21

The Association of Public Administration Employees announced the extension of the general strike until Friday, April 21, 2023. In a statement, it congratulated "the employees in particular and the Lebanese in general on the occasion of the blessed holidays," hoping that "peace and tranquility will prevail in the homeland." The association noted that "as time passes and the ruling authority hesitates to find a suitable and just solution to the economic, social, and health situation of employees in public administrations, and to halt the deterioration of their salaries and correct them, albeit in stages, while it finds temporary solutions for other sectors, and from the standpoint of the rightful claim of all sectors to fair and adequate salaries, especially the public administration employees, and in light of the pressures faced by employees to report to work despite the announced strike and threats of punitive measures, the administrative body of the Association of Public Administration Employees reaffirms its support for them until their rights are restored."
