Warning: Avoid Bananas During This Time of Day

Some people resort to eating bananas in the morning as a substitute for breakfast, believing it to be a good option on a busy workday. However, doctors have a different opinion. According to doctors, while bananas are rich in potassium and vitamin B6, as well as being cholesterol-free and low in sodium, they are not ideal as the first meal of the day. Nutrition expert Darryl Geoffrey explained that although bananas may seem like a good morning choice, they are not effective for maintaining your energy levels throughout the day. He added, "Bananas are not the best option because they contain 25% sugars and moderate acidity, which will give you a quick boost, but you will soon feel tired and hungry." Geoffrey continued, "Without balancing a breakfast that includes bananas with healthy fats, many benefits of bananas will be lost while blood sugar and acid levels will increase." He concluded, "It is advisable to combine bananas with something that neutralizes the acid to gain the benefits of potassium, fiber, and magnesium, while slowing down the metabolism of sugar, which should prevent spikes in blood sugar."
