Putin: Russia Does Not Plan to Deploy Nuclear Weapons in Space

Russian news agencies reported today that President Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with the Russian Security Council, stated, "Moscow does not plan to deploy nuclear weapons in space, and responding to threats in space should always be a priority for the country." U.S. sources claim that "Russia is developing an anti-satellite nuclear weapon to be deployed in space," but Putin stated, "I oppose the deployment of nuclear weapons in space," and Moscow categorically denied the U.S. allegations.
