The International Atomic Energy Agency announced today that Iran has reversed a slowdown in the rate of enriching uranium to a purity level of 60 percent, which is close to the threshold needed for weapon manufacturing, and has returned to a rate of approximately nine kilograms per month instead of the reduced rate of three kilograms. The agency stated: "The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that Iran has increased the production of uranium hexafluoride enriched to 60 percent of uranium-235 to about nine kilograms per month since the end of November at these two facilities combined," referring to the Fordow and Natanz sites.
