The Turkish lira has dropped to a new record low of 31 lira against the dollar on Wednesday, continuing a decline that has resulted in a loss of nearly 40 percent of its value since the beginning of 2023. The currency touched the new low level of 31.0035 by 12:47 GMT, bringing its losses so far this year to nearly five percent.
